Pics! Brad Pitt Took His sons to See Star Trek

His kids aren't white like he is. He should probably see if his wife's sleeping around.

I never understood people's obsession with celebrities. Why should it matter to me what movie Brad Pitt likes, or how Beyonce decorates her house? Their celebrity status does not automatically bestow them with better taste in movies and home decor -- they are simply people who can have bad tastes or good tastes, just like any stranger I see on the street could have good taste or bad taste.

Who the fuck cares? A lot of people took their kids to see Star Trek.
Yeah, but those people arent famous :p

Its important, did you not see that interview where it was revealed that Angelina Jolie had a crush on Mr Spock and wanted to make him scream? Brad was so insecure about that, he had to size up the opposition and take his kids along so he had a manly excuse for going and to remind Angelina who she was married to.

Well, that's irresponsible, IMO. This isn't a movie for 5 and 7 years olds.

There is that, too..

actually, I've been seeing a ton of 5-7 year-old in the theatre. once, these three little kids were trying to wriggle past our group onto a row. I looked at the man who seemed to be their grandfather... and said "little Trekkies in the making, huh?" he grinned and rolled his eyes and said "they wouldn't let us come without them. threw a huge tantrum!" meaning he and his son (who, we guessed, was their dad).

during the movie, we could tell the kids were enjoyed it hugely. we had to smile.

later on, when we were all walking out, I asked the dad if the kids enjoyed the movie. he said "oh god yeah. and they're already planning to go to the IMAX." the father and the grandfather were the Trekkies in the family, and the next generation was already in the making, I guess.

no little girls though. at least, I haven't seen them yet. my niece wants to see it, but she'll probably have to see it on DVD.

People seem to underestimate the appeal of a movie like Star Trek to the 5 year old crowd. Sure, they probably wont get all that its about but if it is well designed (as was Trek XI) then it could appeal to people on multiple levels. There is stuff for the 5 year olds and stuff for the 50 year olds.

When I think about it some more, if my parents didnt let me watch star trek when I was a 5 year old (even younger actually) I wouldn't be a Trekkie today, and I'm sure the same goes for many other people

This isn't about the movie, and I'm really not interested in seeing how far a griping-about-celebrities thread will go. Closed.
