Pierre Le Guennec, 71, who once worked for the prolific Spanish-born painter, had kept the artworks inside a trunk in the garage of his home on the French Riviera.

I don't think I would have kept £50m worth of pictures hidden in the garage.

I don't know what to make of this. If Picasso had given them to the electrician you would think that electrician wouldn't have kept them in his garage.

However if he had stolen 271 works from Picasso you think that Picasso would have reported the theft.

They came to light when Mr Le Guennec and his wife showed some of them to the painter's son, Claude, and other administrators of his estate in an attempt to have them authenticated.
