I will never understand man's obsession with subjective awards, be they popular vote or decided by self-appointed “experts”.

What does it even mean? At the very least in terms of objective awards, it is quite clear that it means that whoever wins the award, say, crossed the 100 metre distance in the shortest time of all participants — an impressive feat, boring it is to watch.
