Cucumber sandwiches are for tea. A chop with a floury potato and a pint of claret would be a traditional English lunch for the businessman but, sadly, unlikely in Star Trek...*A cucumber sandwich and a cup of tea. Earl Grey. Hot.
He is seen eating Chinese food or something (I'm not an expert on this, please feel free to correct me) before Riker comes to see him in "The Pegasus".

I went to check the script to see if I could slip "What is the charge? Eating a meal? A succulent Chinese meal?" into the dialog in the scene, and while that didn't pan out, the script does specify that Picard was having "a Japanese dinner," and he even offers Riker some sashimi in a cut line before he finally starts to lay into him about the mutiny and cover-up.He is seen eating Chinese food or something (I'm not an expert on this, please feel free to correct me) before Riker comes to see him in "The Pegasus".

I think it's Japanese, & because of the lighting, the size of the meal & the fact that his talk with Riker seems off duty, I suspect it's dinner. He is seen eating Chinese food or something (I'm not an expert on this, please feel free to correct me) before Riker comes to see him in "The Pegasus".
Was it in 'Samaritan Snare' where Picard has some sandwiches with Wesley on their shuttle journey....Maybe some triangular sandwiches for a snack.
