Physical model: Kelvin timeline - Custom USS Constellation NCC-1017 (Refit)

Hi all

just wanted to post a custom physical model I made of an imagined USS Constellation NCC-1017 Refit (Kelvin timeline).

I made this from the DVD steelbook edition of Trek 09 DVD case / holder which was in the design of the Kelvin timeline 1701 USS Enterprise.

All I’ve done to the model is cut off the nacelles and struts and supa-glued them back onto the secondary hull, into a swept-back configuration. I then tried shaping the strut join more organically into the hull (still quite rough in finish).

I glued the primary saucer DVD holder shut, and changed the registry and name to reflect that if the USS Constellation - as well as repainting / touching up with a marker a few other small details.

Overall, I’m happy with this model, although admittedly my finishing is a bit rough on most of my supa-glued areas...

@saddestmoon, your images seem to be hotlinked from Rebelscum forums, which doesn't seem to allow images hosted there to be displayed elsewhere. Please re-upload your images to a free hosting service, such as imgur.com, tinypic.com, flickr.com or postimage.org.

@Michael - My apologies: I had posted images in another thread a few months ago (the Eaglemoss Star Trek thread) through the image hosting service at Rebelscum (which were viewable) so I assumed it would still work... (their site recently underwent an upgrade, so I’m assuming this is likely the case).

One question: Is it within forum rules for me to link directly to my gallery on Rebelscum, showing my pictures?

Update: I’ve discovered you can only view these when Logged into Rebelscum.

I clicked the image icon and I got a notification I needed to be logged in to see said image. I think it might be that upgrade you talked about yeah...

^^^ Thanks for letting me know: I just went through some of the Rebelscum admin threads / notifications and it does indeed appear to be a change in policy (more or less) since the upgrade, around image use.

Update / Edit: just setup a Flickr account, as per Michael’s helpful advice, so hopefully this will now work...

This. I always thought it was the big flaw in the Abramsverse version of the ship. Move those nacelles further apart and it is probably my second favorite Trek ship.

^^^ being an alternative universe / timeline, I’d like to imagine this USS Constellation never encountered the planet killer and instead went forth and clocked up an illustrious record of service, and discovery of new worlds, etc - however, as per ST: Beyonds end-credits, the Planet-Killer was seen and is out there in the Kelvin universe, sooooo by that implication a similar fate to the TOS Constellation may well befall the Kelvin-era starship...
