Photos from filming the superhero short film "FALLEN"

Last night was the second day of filming for Fallen, a short film I am directing about a superhero who decides to quit and must suffer the ramifications of his actions when a city in chaos turns to him for help.

We were filming off of LaSalle and Adams, right where they filmed The Dark Knight last year where they flipped The Joker's semi-truck. I wanted to just share some photos and relay my utter excitment for this project, which I hope you will all like when it is done!

Fallen is currently filming and I hope to have it online by Christmas.

This is looking so sweet, JacksonArcher! I can't wait to see it. Making a movie is something I've dreamed about, but I've decided to keep it a dream; the workload must be too overwhelming for me to keep up with and the inner ability to boss people around just isn't there. :p

So, when exactly will Wake finish post-production? ;)

That looks fantastic, JacksonArcher!

As a film student, I'm rather impressed. How much is this costing you?

I'm excited for you too. How long will the final product be do you think and how will it be distributed?

I am decidedly interested in this endeavor.

What are your plans for distribution?

I hope it involves a whole lot of the word "free," because I will definitely check it out in that case.

Haha. ;)

The film (referring to Wake) is actually done. The website is being made and the film is in DVD duplication as we...umm...BBS browse? The film should be online this week, and out to festivals soon.

I will also be bringing Fallen, free of charge, online by probably the beginning of December. As for cost, the production budget was $30,000.

As Jackson and I seem to have very similar tastes in all movies, not just comic strip ones, I read about this project with interest. Hope it goes well mate, look forward to seeing it. :bolian:

Sorry, but where will this be online at exactly?

I'm interested in the premise of Fallen and based on the stills, it should have a good look to it. But is this just a thing you do on the side (making short films) or something you're working towards as a career?

Sorry, I'm not up on everyone's backgrounds.

It'll be online at the film's official website.

Right now, I'm in full filmmaking mode. This is definitely something I am working towards as a career, one small step at a time.

Also, just to clear up any possible confusion, Fallen is not a Batman related film, but based off of an original superhero named Ephraim.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I'll check it out.

Also, will the movie S. Gomez mentioned, Wake be at the same website?

Are there any other films you've done that are available online at the moment?

Good luck with your endeavors.

Looking good!

What are you shooting with?

I saw "Wake" was using some sort of Canon camera in HDV.

How long is this film?

You gotta have VFX for a superhero film......curious as to who may be doing it.

Wake was my directorial debut. It will be available at its own website when it is brought online.

Here is the trailer for the film.

Not sure why, but that link keeps crashing Firefox 3 everytime I try to load the page. Just thought I'd mention it.

I managed to get the "Save As" link before it crashed the last time so hopefully it'll work okay.

I may just need to update the Quicktime's codecs as I use Quicktime Alternative.

Thanks again.

Awesome! I can't wait to see the finished products. I can only imagine how excited you must feel, Jackson! :techman:
