I used to listen to Phil when his show was carried here briefly and loved it...I loved his Art Bell/Coast to Coast skits, Loyd Bonafide, and my all time favorite skit segment because it fooled me the first couple times I listened to them...Bobbie Dooley lol.
I loved the bit where some weird woman was talking about her dead grandson and how someone was eating (or as she said macking on my boy). It had to do with transubstantiation and she thought that the wafer was turned into her grandson and people were eating him.
Another one that had me howling is when this woman called in who totally didn't get the show and was in a huge rage. She arrived home and stayed in the car screaming on the phone at one of Phil's guests. I love when people calling up thinking that the guest is a real person and not a character.

Yeah a few real callers had that impression...the ones that weren't actually Phil characters themselves that is. I also loved Bud Dickman's...Phil's "producer". Awesome stuff.
Well, the callers pretty much always think it's real. They're usually people who come across the show for the first time and don't know the deal. That's the beauty of it. They'll never run out of clueless callers.

I like that one character who is always suing someone with outrageous lawsuits. G. Gordy Liddy even talked about the lawsuits on his talk show and he thought it was real. It was so funny.

I have a full year of the shows on my mp3 player. Heard a really funny one the other day where a guy was really offended that a customer paid him with a check that had 666 in it, and he refused to cash it because he would be "accepting the beast." He told a caller who was yelling at him that she "must think the beast is cool."
I haven't heard Phil Hendrie in years. Does he still have a show on? He's not on anywhere in the Los Angeles area as far as I can tell.
He was on in Denver for about a year before they ditched him. The first time I heard it, I completely fell for it. It had something to do with a woman who approved of breast cancer and it just freaked me out. After a couple of days of crazy stuff, I realized that it was an act and once you figure it out, it's pretty damn funny. It did get old after a while though.
