Peter Jackson's Ulcer To Delay 'The Hobbit'

Dusty Ayres

Commodore
Apologies if this has already been posted....

In a development that pushes back the start of The Hobbit a bit, Peter Jackson was admitted today night to Wellington Hospital with acute stomach pains and underwent surgery for a perforated ulcer. According to a statement from the production, "Sir Peter is currently resting comfortably and his doctors expect him to make a full recovery. Sir Peter's surgery is not expected to impact on his directing commitment to The Hobbit beyond a slight delay to the start of filming."

Peter Jackson's Ulcer To Delay 'The Hobbit'

Get well, Pete-please. I don't want to be the only forty-something who's chronically diseased.

For a sec, I thought the title was Peter Jackson's Ulcer To Play 'The Hobbit.'

That was an interesting mental image.

Oops, missed that - but if The Hobbit doesn't go in the Fantasy forum, what does? ;)

No, Dusty is Brett Ratner, who visited Peter Jackson and got his blessing to take over directorial duties.
