Debuts Monday at 10pm, 9 Central.

I wouldn't bother starting this thread except, apparently it doesn't suck like Harper's Island and Happy Town did. Sounds worth a shot anyway...

Basically, the setup is: a bunch of people are stuck in a town, don't know how they got there or what's going on. No smoke monsters appear to be involved. It was shot on the cheap in Mexico with a bunch of unknown actors, and it's a miniseries, which reduces the odds of it being cancelled before the mysteries are revealed.

Thanks for the reminder, Temis. I had seen a commercial and thought I'd give it a peek but then forgot all about it.

Your poll is broken. :p

Nah, SG-1's about on par with Persons Unknown - strictly mediocre.

Interesting set-up, okay script, blah actors, terrible ratings. I'll stick it out till the end, though. Good enough for summer TV.

Never seen a show kill its own premise so quickly. A group of kidnapped strangers waking up to an empty town they are unable to leave was, briefly, interesting. Then a Chinese catering crew shows up, and the plot falls apart. The addition of a 'Night Watchman' just pushed it into complete absurdity. The first half hour had the feel of a Twilight Zone episode--genuinely creepy. The rest, with the kill your neighbour and walk stuff, pointless character additions... just another sleazy reality-show-gone-bad set-up. Won't be tuning in next week.

Fictitiously yours, Trent Roman

This sounds similar to a web series called The Ennead.

Five apparent strangers wake up in the woods with strange items in the their pockets. Unsure of who, where, or when, they are, they begin to deal with their immediate concern: survival.

As their memories slowly begin to return, they begin to suspect that everything is not quite what it seems, and that they might not be strangers after all.

I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that there's a good reason why apparently normal people are participating in this weird and illegal scenario.

For instance: what if the cooks, the maitre'd and the night watchmen were all raised in the "village" (can't help calling it that) :D and have no idea that their lives are anything but normal?

Wow, that web series starts off as an incredible ripoff of Lost! :rommie: Here's how the dialogue should have gone:

Guy: "What the last thing you remember?"

Girl: "Waking up just now."

Guy: "Wow, you are blonde. I meant the last thing before you passed out, dumbshit!"
