Personal Favorite Episodes of VOY

Arpy

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Among mine are:

"Caretaker" - showed promise
"Resistance" - tragic; we're not in the Alpha Quadrant any more
"Deathwish" - philosophical
"Drone" - redemptive
"Counterpoint" - tense fun
"Pathfinder" - looks who's coming to dinner
"Muse" - my inner Greek found this charming
"Message in a Bottle" - lighthearted adventure

Others?

My top 10 episodes are:

1. Cold Fire

2. Persistence Of Vision

3. Caretaker

4. Warlord

5. Basics (parts 1 and 2)

6 The Swarm

7. Projections

8. Darkling

9. Time And Again

10. Before And After

The tease of "Tinker Tenor Doctor Spy."

Which I just discovered today you can't really appreciate until you've heard it in the original Hungarian:

I also thought the Angry Warrior speech in Hungarian was great. I don't speak it at all but my wife knows some, so I'll ask her to translate it later.

She lived in Budapest for a few months, and she watched a lot of Flintstones in Hungarian. All of the dialog rhymes.

Scorpion - Everyone gets something to do (even Chakotay), Harry almost dies, and the conflict and moral dilemma are both interesting and compelling.

Year of Hell
- Tons of great character interaction, and an unusual andinteresting "time travel" concept, if it can be called that.

The Killing Game - Holodeck Hirogen Space Nazis. This SHOULD be terrible, but it's one of the show's best episodes. It's very fun.

Timeless - The episode where Harry has developed as a character! It's an interesting alt future and I love going back and forth between it and the present.

Critical Care - An ep that explores the doctor as a compassionate being more than the "I'm a hologram" angle, and does it magnificently in my opinion.

My 15, In no particular order:

-Someone to Watch Over Me
-Body and Soul
-Blink of an Eye
-Scorpion
-Year of Hell
-Equinox
-Living Witness
-Timeless
-Future's End
-Relativity
-Counterpoint
-The Void
-Ashes to Ashes
-Workforce
-Caretaker

Post a little about why they're your favorites...episode titles alone aren't as interesting.

One episode I have not seen since it aired but intrigues me is "Sacred Ground" - when Kes nearly dies and Janeway explores the afterlife. I was a kid tantalized by its metaphysical questioning at the time, and I wonder if it holds up.

Most of seasons four and five, which I consider the high point of the show.

I also enjoyed some of the earlier eps which dealt with their predicament like Eye of the Needle, or Caretaker-related episodes like Cold Fire or Dreadnought.

Later episodes really only dazzled me with CGI, like Dragon's Teeth or One Small Step, but otherwise I'd lost major interest by then.

I never came up a list of my top 5 or 10. However, I will say that my favorite episode is Counterpoint.

I recently rewatched Scorpion I and II. Scorpion I is terrific as always. Scorpion II, though, while probably one of the best second part episodes of a cliffhanger, suffers from taking Janeway out of the action during the middle. I understand why they did it but it took away from the dramatic tension, I think. I also wish they'd kept Seven in Borg form for longer that season.

A really great episode is the one that followed, The Gift. The goodbye scene bw Janeway and Kes gets me each and every time.

My favorite is Someone to Watch Over Me. It has my two favorite characters in a really good, touching story.

I still hate that Seven ended up with Chakotay.
