Perhaps Faith of the Heart Performed by a Woman

Saquist

I've notice the unpopular nature of Enterprise for sometime I don't enjoy the show much either but I was encouraged by initially by the change of the opening music to try and shake things up a bit.

Problem is instead of going forward with something that was more 200's they went to Rod Stewart who's was a an 80's great. Perhaps having a woman sing the song and power through the chorus would have been better, along with a metal theme.

Thoughts, Farts?

It might have worked better if they had done things the other way around - started with the more jazzed up version in the first two seasons then gone to the more somber take on it in S3 with the Xindi arc. As it is, the song got "happier" when the show's premise got more serious.

You know that might have worked...
They pioneered changing the mood with the episode of the Alternate reality to match the theme or vise versa.

I hope you are not advocating that the opening number be performed by Celine Dion? :alienblush:

It wasn't Rod Stewart (he performed a version of the song on the soundtrack album of "Patch Adams"). It was Russell Watson, then an up-and-coming success story, who performed the version used on ENT. The song was written by a woman, Diane Warren.

BTW, the song was also covered in 1999 by Susan Ashton for her album Closer.

there were no modifications that we're going to help that song as the ENT theme. Wouldn't have worked right from the start.

Indeed.
I won't say...LIKED...but I didn't have a problem with it, I thought it was a good move to shake things up a bit and do something original. Most importantly I thought the song had purpose for the story.

I liked the song. It started wearing thin after 4 years. Not as catchy as the Friends theme song "I'll Be There For You".

What the hell kind of thing is this to say??

But regarding the song, I hated it no matter what version was used, although I agree with the person who said they should not have jazzed it up during the Xindi arc. That made no sense.
