A 24-year old shipyard worker in New Hampshire has been charged with setting fire the the USS Miami so he could go home early, causing $400 million in damage.

Fury told investigators he failed to admit his involvement in the submarine fire because he was "scared and everything was blurry to him and his memory was impaired due to his anxiety and the medications he was taking at the time."

He then told investigators he was taking prescription medication for anxiety and depression, including Celexa, Klonopin and Ambien.

Unless he's the captain, nobody named Fury should be allowed on board. It's just common sense.

Unless he's wearing an eyepatch and was the boss of a commando unit and current commander of the bigges spy organization of the world ;)

Shit like that happens.. no one can prevent someone going mental (much like the Batman shooter recently.. no one can predict that).. the only thing i'm curious about is what kind of background checks are needed to be able to work with military equipment.

But even then i doubt it would be possible to legally prevent him working on a sub because he "needs" certain drugs.

just because someone needs medication doesnt neccessarily mean they shouldn't have a job. plenty of drug-free people have done crazy shit

This thread doesn't appear at all relevant to Science or Technology, and was just an excuse for gturner to make an unfunny joke.
