Peep Show Series 6 Starts Tonight

Bob The Skutter

Complete Arse Cleft
In Memoriam
In case anyone doesn't know the new series of Peep Show starts tonight on Channel 4 at 10pm.

Newly promoted Mark decides to enjoy his additional power and wealth by splashing out on a boiler, a 'creamy elephant' sofa and by finding Jeremy a job in the office. Things are also looking promising for Mark in his pursuit of Dobby, the company IT girl. However, a routine fire drill puts his plans into total disarray.

Seems like a long time since the last series, and I haven't picked any up on DVD since series 3, I guess I really should.

Yes, you should. I am happy Peep Show is back and have little doubt it will regain its 'funniest show on TV' crown from The Inbetweeners within a very short space of time.

I demand more Dobby and Big Suze this year. And Super Hans of course, but that goes without saying.

Now, I love Peep Show. Easily in my Top 10 all time favourite TV shows

This first ep of Series 6 however was pretty "meh" for me. It felt very, very forced, and a bit too "sitcomy" for my liking.
There were some good bits, but here's hoping it improves with the following episodes

Thought it was great, nice to see Dobby back again. Bit disturbed by Mark doing his wallet/change/keys/phone routine as I do that!!!

My feelings exactly. Not a great start to the season at all, almost as if it's become complacent.

I'm watching now, and I'm most of the way through and I've laughed maybe twice. To be honest I've felt it's been getting a bit stale for the last 2 series but keep watching because when they get it right it's really good.

It's not "bad", but not a patch on the Series 1-2 level (for me Series 1 is by far the best, and really captures the essence of what Peep Show is)

I think the ep last night relied WAY too heavily on Mark's internal thoughts, all of which didn't come across the natural-Series 1-way, but came off as far too overly scripted. It reminded me of similar scenes in the ep last series with Jez's mother

It was OK, I suppose. I've never been an avid watcher of Peep Show - I don't dislike it, but it doesn't wibble my frossett pouch like Mitchell & Webbs' sketch show does.

But it does get a bonus point for Paterson Joseph, who has always been the best thing about Peep Show anyway.

Will The Johnson be in it any more now that Mark doesn't work there any more?

Just seen it on 4oD and it was alright I guess. I agree that it's not a patch on the earlier series, but it was good to see it back again.

I quite enjoyed it, looking forward to the rest.

(Inner monologue)This is brilliant, I'm making friends, I'm conversing with other on the net, im giving my opinion and im being accepted and im not thinking about Johnson.....oh damn!)

I quite liked this weeks, but in the main that might have been down to Mark calling his boiler 'Orac'

Guess that's it for Mark/ Dobby--for a while at least.

Haven't bothered watching yet. Might finish the last couple of chapters in this book I'm reading and then watch. But I'm less than enthused after last ep.

It was a good episode and I'm glad they didn't chicken out on the baby thing as it seemed they might when they introduced Jeff into the equation, but once again it falls into that Peep Show trap where Mark isn't allowed to win. He didn't even do anything that reprehensible this time. :(

Great episode... quote of the show "I couldn't slide this in anyway, it'd be like trying to clingfilm an earthworm." :guffaw:
