PDA! (Not the Palm Pilot...)

I found myself wondering something, after finding myself very put off by seeing a couple of teenagers making out at the Starbucks in front of everyone.

I was wondering how many others are bugged by PDA...I guess to me, it's just something that is private between two people and doesn't need to be an exhibition for the whole world to see.

A little smooch, a peck on the cheek, hugging, holding hands---that's fine and sweet, and doesn't bother me in the least.

But when two people are in public, in plain view, and they're so into 3rd base that it looks like they're planning to slide into Home---Ew. Get a room, for Christ's sake.

I am a man and I am not bothered by PDA, which would include for me:

Peck on the cheek, holding hands, hugging, one hand in other's back jeans pocket, nuzzling, kiss on the forehead, kiss on the lips, long kiss on the lips, something in that general area.

Anything after that and I consider it PDL, or "Public Displays of Lust".

I'm a woman and I don't really like it, find it tacky. And I especially don't like participating in it, it makes me feel uncomfortable when my boyfriend tries to kiss me in public.

I actually saw a couple getting into it very heavily on the BART train last night. I quick kiss here and there, pecks on the cheek or forehead is perfectly fine. But when it's going into heavy petting and full on spit-swapping...please wait until you're at least back in your car.

Maybe it's just from being a loner in high school and most of college, but I don't think people should be all over each other in public and that should be done in privacy. Hand holding and a brief kiss goodbye is it! This is the rule I live by with my fiancee
