I was thinking of an image of an aged, made-up Bakula holding a puddle of goo at the end of a leash.

Porthos will be a very old dog in 2245!!

On a serious note, I've never taken the "Admiral Archer's prized beagle" comment to mean Porthos. I would imagine Porthos is well dead by then, and Archer (like most dog owners that prefer a certain breed) simply has another beagle. Well, had, since Scotty zaps him with the transporter...

Iam just happy that they are making a star trek movie, lets see how things go, making to many assumptions is a bad thing, wars were started on bad assumptions, never a good thing ;)

INDEED!!

First off, we really do not need to have so many characters from different era's being in the movie. If all the assumptions are true with every single character to be on the movie. It would just make the movie just way to weird.

Oh and this whole Patrick Stewart thing is balls. Isn't he stuck in the UK doing Hamlet with David Tennant?

Actually, it's all true, but wait, here's the catch, here's the insane twist: according to my secret sources, Patrick Stewart is not playing Admiral Picard, he's playing Admiral Charles Xavier! Yeah, I know, I'm as surprised as you are. And Kermit the Frog has a cameo as an Orion slave girl.

If this is true I will care about it exactly as much as I've cared for all the other "canon" business. Which is exactly zero. None of this gets the movie one iota closer to being a good Star Trek story, which has to do with exploration and the unknown and the human condition. When we hear a rumor about those things being included in the movie - then I will get excited.

Archer's bio file in the Defiant's database in Enterprise's MU two-parter states Archer died in 2245 after the launch of the 1701 under April's command (yes, it actually mentions April).

April???

That proves it!!!!!!!! Star Trek:Enterprise is NOT cannnnon. :shifty:

Of course. It's not like Einstein and Copernicus were the same dog in the Back to the Future movies.

canon violation! kirk told picard never to let 'them' promote him, because while he's there in the captain's chair, he can make a difference.

talk about insult to injury: picard allows kirk to die by not going back further in time in the nexus, then buries his body under a pile of rocks on Veridiian 4, then doesn't follow Kirk's sage advice, and probably sends spock back in time to kill Kirk then to clear his conscience

I doubt spiner or stewart will have a role in the film (poor shatner if they do). I thought stewart didn't do small cameos. i could see they could be in the official movie literature, and perhaps get a mention onscreen. even then, the "alternate timeline" couldn't save Shatner's Kirk (altho picard could go save him in the past but i don't see that happening for a number of reasons)
