Patrick Stewart as Raymond Chandler

Allyn Gibson

Vice Admiral
Admiral
Sir Patrick Stewart co-stars with Clive Swift (Doctor Who, Keeping Up Appearances) in the BBC's latest Play of the Week, "Strangers on a Film," which is available on the BBC's website for listening.

Stewart plays Raymond Chandler, and Swift is Alfred Hitchcock. The two men come together to work on a screenplay for Hitchcock's next film, Strangers on a Train, and their working methods, their ideas about narrative and cinema, even their personal philosophies and outlooks upon life, are so at odds that things never really click.

It's a surprisingly funny audio drama, with black and sardonic humor laced throughout. Stewart turns in a fun performance as Chandler, and he portrays a spluttering drunk quite well.

Good stuff. Listen if you have a chance. :)
