Partly entertaining with good action but...

Romulus isn't destroyed in the current timeline.

Vulcan was destroyed to shake things up, it was necessary and I'm sure you would've prefered if it if they had hit the reset button - unlike 90 percent of the Trek fanbase who were tired of seeing that shit in Voyager and Enterprise.

No, it was not necessary at all. It was a total violation of established Trek history since Vulcan does exist in TNG, DS9 and Voyager.

Vulcan is just on vacation. It'll come back with all sorts of photos and stories...

The golden opportunity to unite most of the Trek fans around this project went out of the window there and then.

As of right now, almost every single post in the "pick your dream director for the next film" says "J. J. Abrams".

And 84% think it's "excellent" or "above average".

I think Trek fans are as united as they ever get around this project, actually.

Oh yeah. This is as united as it gets.

J.

Or ever has been.

Point one, This is an Alternate Timeline, in the Original Timeline Vulcan still exists (Atleast Pocket Books still plans to have stories where it exists co check their site out)

Point 2.

Paramount since they are in charge of deciding that and they are already talking another movie (Not greenlit but they are talking)

point 3.

Vorn's are Vorn's Vulcans are Vulcans.

Well, then I'll stick to the Original Timeline.

Point 1: Unfortunately, PocketBooks has taken a direction I simply can't accept with the annihilation of Janeway and until they have changed that, I won't waste any money on their books. I'll stick to fan fiction where certain planets and certain people are still existing.

Point 2: Paramount has been screwing everything up since season 4 of Voyager so I'm not surprised. It just confirms my current low opinion of "official" Star Trek.

Point 3: The Vorn's are still good imposters.

Oh dear, I just have to use that Ixtyl character in some upcoming story! ;)

Actually that was Berman and Braga screwing everthing up since Voyager season 1.... I do not know what shows you have been watching. Paramount owns the show, they assign people to be incharge of creating the show. Berman had been in charge of the show since half way through TNG and did not leave the creative helm till the last season of Ent. So he was firmly to blame for the "Screw Ups"

Paramount then wondered if they could do a new take on Trek assigned a new director and writing team and this movie was made. Sorry to burst your bubble but what they have put out is some of the best trek seen in years. That is from a large majority of POSITIVE Reviews from both Fans and non-fans alike.

But hey your opinion is cool, your facts are bad, but your opinion is fine. You do not have to like this movie. You can remain in the orginal timeline. Like I said Pocket books has plenty of novels coming out, for each generation of Trek as a matter of fact. I doubt Paramount is going to get rid of things that are making them money, but the fact they are still putting out novels in the original timeline is because Paramount does realize that refreshing stories are still being told there, by people who Are not Berman and Braga. They gave Abrams leeway, because not everyone reads (Shock and awe) so the new Movie Timeline is built to access a larger fanbase, bring more people into our little club, give us more minutia to discuss, come up with more hoaky science to debate and do it all with a Universe B, flair. There is room for all, IDIC ya know ;)

Oh wait you actually liked Voyager....

Well there is no accounting for taste.

My next Question is How can you Stomache Voyager and its everything reset by the end of the show writing Which by the way was a MANDATE BY THE EXECUTIVE PRODUCER BERMAN. NOT PARAMOUNT!!!!!(Except the fact that they are still stuck in the freaking Delta Quadrant and that is because of the friggen resets.)

I really love seasons 1-3 of Voyager, but I dislike seasons 4-7. And I really hate "Endgame".

As for PocketBooks, I'm very dissatisfied with the current direction of those books so reading them will be no sanctuary for me either.

Voyager still stuck in the Delta Quadrant? I really wish that they would be that!

And I pointed out that it was Berman who screwed it up. HE was in Charge.

Rick "Trek belongs to me now Old man" Berman. (And thank god he is gone)

Well, then we do have one thing in common, the same opinion about Berman. :)
