Anyone else here a fan of the band Owl City? It isn't a group I think I would normally like, but I can't stop listening to that "Fireflies" song, and their others are in the same vein and in my rotation as well.

The lead singer cites Imogen Heap as an influence, which likely explains their appeal to me. The new Imogen Heap album, by the by, is awesome, and all should go check it out.

When I first heard the song, I thought The Postal Service had a new CD out. I was sad when that wasn't true.

I haven't heard any of their other stuff.

J. Allen had a quote from "Fireflies" in his sig a week or two back (I don't know if he still does). I looked the artist up because of that, and am now addicted. It's kind of annoying.

Owl City is actually just one guy playing all the instruments. Fireflies is a catchy song, but I don't care for the rest of the album.

I was mesmorized by the song when I first heard. As I sat listless in my car on the way to work this song came on. When I zoned back in I was intrigued by the sound. Yet as much as I wanted to hate its very existence, I couldn't turn the channel. I was hyponotized by the electronic rythme and funky beat. I was able to cast aside the gayness and enjoy the song.

I listened to it a few more times and now it resides on a list of songs I like to break out when I am in a certain mood.
