Well, I thought I was being environmentally conscious when I ditched the old waterfall Christmas lights for LED lights. I had gone to Costco about 3 years ago for their "Forever Lights" C7 size. They did ok the first 2 years although they are significantly dimmer than incandescent bulbs. Regardless, the wires are crapping out this year. I checked everything before putting them up on the roof, but after getting them up on the second story and hooking them into the gutter, waiting for dark and flipping the switch... LO AND BEHOLD about 5 meters of the string were totally crapped out. The next day I went back up and it looks like the insulation had scraped away against the shingles. It is weird though because it is in the middle of the string. Oh well, I'm not fighting vertigo again to go up and cut out the non-working bulbs and splicing. I suppose that will give me something to do on days when we are snowed in.
