Other than TOS cast members, are there other shows' cast members who didn't get along?

We all know about the stories with Shatner and the other TOS cast members, and how a few of them didn't care for Shatner as a person. They're pretty well-known.

But are there any stories of the Trek shows' cast members not getting along with each other due to ego? I think I heard one about Kate Mulgrew not being very kind towards Jeri Ryan on VOY.

Any others?

The TNG cast got along great.
The DS9 cast were like co-workers.
The VOY cast had some power-plays (as you mentioned).
I don't know about the ENT cast. Seems like they get along.
No idea about the Kelvin cast.

I severely doubt we'll hear anything about the casts from the new shows for a long, long time.

It wasn't just Mulgrew, althought she was the most strident in her resistance to Ryan. At least according to Fifty Year Mission, Beltran and Wang stopped the rest of the cast (unclear who was included) from demanding Ryan be fired.

On DS9, Auberjonois and Brooks would get into loud arguments about acting choices. They were still committed to the work, not to destroying one another. Auberjonois could also express some frustration with Farrell's abilities. Several cast members have said that Eisenberg was trying at first.

Colm Meany and Alexander Siddig apparently had some friction over the Irish/English political situation.

Acting ability doesn't always cover emotional state, though. Ever see Geneviève Bujold's brief but disastrous stint as Captain Janeway?

Almost like they were acting....

Sometimes the personal feelings of the cast can bleed over into the acting though.
Like, for example on Game of Thrones Lena Headey and Peter Dinklage were close friends...and as a result the pure hatred that exists between Cersei and Tyrion in the novels never shows up on screen, even when they tried to write them as loathing each other.
On the other end of the spectrum, if you watch the later seasons of the original Charmed you might notice that the three main characters seem like they are angry and tense all the time, that's because the actresses couldn't stand each other at that point and there was quite a bit of in-fighting (even after Shannon Doherty left)

With Janeway and Seven or O'Brian and Bashir you'd never guess that the actors didn't like each other.

It's possible that's projection on the part of the watcher. Especially with the benefit of hindsight.

I've never seen Game of Thrones so I have no comment on that. I watched Charmed and don't recall any such dynamic as you've listed here.

I guess the bottom line is you've got to be professional. I always think back to Caddyshack. The original cut had no scenes with Bill Murray and Chevy Chase together. TPTB said "what the fuck?"

So they wrote a scene for the two actors who by all accounts despised each other. They showed up, hit their marks and said their lines. And now it's a classic comedy scene ("Cannonball! Cannonball comin' at ya!").

So I suppose it's a testament to the casts' professionalism that whatever conflicts may have existed did not come through on-screen. That is, in fact, exactly how acting is supposed to work.

That is true. And, as someone who has had to be on stage with people I disliked, I certainly admire that professionalism.

Well, sometimes it did. Braga would often admonish members of the Voyager cast by writing lines for them that critiqued their behavior. Basically, any time someone is telling Seven of Nine that she is rude, Braga is telling that actor that they are being rude to Ryan and they should can it.

Nana Visitor and Siddig got along really well during production, I hear.

Hence Keiko's (and Kira's) pregnancy.

Actually, they were fast friends. Meaney simply would have fun with Sid, taking him to Irish pubs around Los Angeles for a laugh. Their relationship was prankish.

It might have evolved, like the characters' relationship did. Remember when O'Brien could barely stand being in the same room with Bashir? At the end, they were one of Trek's finest bromances.

Evolved? Perhaps. It seems that Meaney delighted in showing Siddig around LA, and they bonded as the non-Americans on the cast. Indeed, they were getting drunk while filming the "The Way You Look Tonight" scene in WYLB.
