That's awesome! And so odd -- just now, I've started reading The War of the Worlds (well, listening to the audiobook version haha) for the very first time! Really great stuff, though, very impressive!
It puts me in mind of a Trek universe where the invasion really happened, and much technology was gained from the captured War Machines. It would also explain why there's a Thunderchild in Starfleet...
