Today I went to the bookstore for my daily Destiny check. It wasn't in yet, but I saw the November issue of Analog instead.
There are two things I wanted to point out to everyone.
One - Robert Sawyer's new novel is being serialized in the magazine for the next four issues, starting with this one. Robert J. Sawyer is a fantastic science fiction writer who always manages to educate while entertaining, as well as exploring the social issues of the science that's on display. He's a fabulous mix of soft and hard SF. For anyone that enjoys Christopher Bennett's work, I'm sure you wouldn't be disappointed by anything that Sawyer writes. I don't know much about the story that's being serialized, other than that it has something to do with the internet, and technology to help blind people see.
Two - There's a fascinating article about 3D printing. Before reading this, I had no idea this technology existed. After reading it, I'm amazed. This isn't Star Trek replicator technology yet... but it's definitely taking steps in that direction.
This is the first Analog magazine I've bought since Sawyer's book 'Hominids' was serialized years ago. I wish I'd been paying more attention to it, there's some really awesome stuff in there.
