OT character fates in TFA similar to Gary Kurtz's plan for ROTJ?

Basically around the time that TPM came out, Gary Kurtz said that the original plan for ROTJ was for Luke to go into exile, Leia to become full leader of the weakened rebellion, and for Han to die.

Kurtz reiterates it here:

It also fits somewhat more with Yoda's prophecy in ESB that Luke facing Vader would have consequences for the rebellion, and would leave the door open for another trilogy instead of wrapping it up in ROTJ. However, maybe a downer ending wasn't what they wanted considering ESB.

A lot of this pretty much happened in TFA to the OT characters-with Luke vanishing (Although in this case, at the end of the movie), Han dying (in an imperial base no less) and Leia leading the rebellion (In the OT she's an important commander but not the actual head of the rebellion). Although the resistance is a bit different, we do see the New Republic's capitol world destroyed by the starkiller, and the Republic is pretty much what the original OT rebellion became (In both Legends and canon).

So I wonder if Abrams was aware of these plans and was inspired by them?

Luke doesn't vanish at the end of the movie, he reappears at the end of the movie. He vanished between VI and VII.

I meant, he would go into exile in ROTJ. Although his exact exile happens between films, it's still something that was sort of intended in this early ROTJ version.

The original EU also sort of had a Luke exile of sorts with the Fate of the Jedi thing, but in that case it was kind of forced upon him, he wasn't exactly a hermit living on a island etc. (Although the exact circumstances of Luke's exile are still unclear, he had probably some contact with Lor Son Tekka.).
