oooh, Watchmen clips

Ethros

Vice Admiral

I posted this in another thread but no one bothered reading it.
So I'll stick it in your face here.

Actual clips from the movie-

Rorschach & Nite Owl

Riot

Ozzy

Rooftop Rescue

Silk Spectre

Rorschach Escape

After only seeing pictures and fleeting images in the trailers it's nice to see some actual scenes. Looks great, although no doubt (unfairly) Rorschach's voice will be compared to Batman's 20-Marlboro-a-day style voice in The Dark Knight

Admittedly, this is based on only seeing a few clips, but I have a feeling that Snyder could have covered a lot more of the Watchmen story if he'd shot the film at, y'know, normal speed.

I'm really hoping the film proves to be different, but every trailer and most of the preview clips have been shot in such languorous slow motion that it almost looks like Snyder's Watchmen takes place underwater.

This movie, IMO, has flop written all over it. Oh, it will get the 'trendy' croud, and great 'visual' reviews, and the all that. But with out any real A-list actors, and an R-rating, it has too much against it....Its only hope is that nothing else is coming out at the same time. Just pray there isn't a MAID IN MAHNATTAN sequel due out the same day...

I hope it's not a flop but I also doubt it will be super huge. In fact after the floptastic The Spirit I think a lot of people will look at this and say "oh another green screen superhero thing about a comic I've never heard of. No thanks"

But then as there's no sequel/franchise or anything riding on it, I don't really care. I just want it to be good

the wsspent all their time making trailers but the film looks like trash

It might be good, but it reminds me of THE SHADOW or THE PHANTOM from the early 90s. But, like I said, I might be wrong. Hellboy had that look too, and it turned out okay....The proof will be in the pudding.

I'd be very surprised if this thing outright flops. If I had to make a prediction I'd say that it'll do modest business at the box office and make a killing on DVD.

Looks wonderful, but I wouldn't care to guess what the commercial prospects are.

There's a cadre of mental defectives over at AICN who are up in arms about the Squid.
