Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum Flux'

A reading of Gabriel Fournier's The Eclipse Of Infinity reveals that the new science-fiction novel makes more than 80 separate references to "quantum flux," a vaguely defined force the author uses to advance the plot, resolve conflict as needed, and account for dozens of glaring inconsistencies.

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Sadly, Fournier is late to the party. Other writers have called this mysterious cosmic element or force "baloneyium." ;)

Ah, but thanks to quantum flux both quantum flux and baloneyium can simultaneously be considered the first and true term. :)

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

I do believe that it is due to the transperambulation of pseudo-cosmic antimatter, or something to that effect.

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

^ It must be a tradition, or an old charter or something.;)

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

As Terry Pratchett puts it, "It's all gone quantum."

The singularity has exploded! We'll need to go at least 12 parsecs in order to outrun it!...and shit

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Kinda sounds like the "Infinite Improbability Drive" from THGttG.

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Dare I admit that I cited "quantum fluctuations" in a story I wrote last week?

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Ah, heck - I think every sci-fi book should mention quantum fluctuations at least once. It's, like, traditional.

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Can't this all be addressed by reversing the polarity of something?

Re: Onion:Sci-Fi Writer Attributes Everything Mysterious To 'Quantum F

Funny how Heisenberg compensators make quantum fluctuations magically disappear.
