Old Odo in "Children of Time"...

...should have had a Bajoran nose. After all, the original shape he was trying to imitate was the Bajoran scientist who raised him, and he was in love with a Bajoran. He seemed to identify himself as Bajoran, if anything. So once he had the ability (which he did, judging by the well defined wrinkles elsewhere on his face), this should have been his natural choice. Has this occurred to anyone else?

Odo's original model was Mora Pol. He was never shown to make a Bajoran nose from that, no reason for him to have one so late in life.

Yeah but Odo was living with mostly humans, so why attempt a Bajoran nose when a human nose would have allowed him to blend in more?

^why not? It's not like that gravestone of Kira's wouldn't remind him of her...

Yeah, it's like waring the ring of your dead spouse, some people do it, but then a ring isn't right between your eyes.

I really like "Children of Time", but did anybody notice that none of the Gaia inhabitants refer to Odo? It made me wonder if he lived out on his own somewhere.

Why would he want to blend in?

You're talking about someone who can change into any shape he wants but has always chosen to appear humanoid - obviously he does care about "blending in".
Not so much blending in, but necessary to operate effectively aboard a space station where doorways, consoles, chairs and the like are designed for 'standard' humanoids.
