Old attempt at wallpapers

I've been rummaging thru stacks of old CDs recently and came across these attempts I made at Trek wallpapers.

Now, keep in mind these things are upwards of 15 years old, dating back to 1995 or '96. All I had to work with was Windows Paintbrush, and I've never been that much of a graphics wiz anyway. In an attempt to use my lack of photo editing ability to my advantage, I started to develop a "geometric" style, rather than something more realistic looking.

They're just 640x480 @ 256 color, so don't expect much. Again, this was more of an exploration of some kind of artistic style than anything else.

Those are good for paint! Paint is sometimes under appreciated... and sometimes it's plain ornery!

^ I know. Now I have to fight just to find something big enough for this 1600x900 behemoth I use. But I have to see what I am doing when I am drawing!

And Ziz that is a great idea for wallpapers. Maybe you could do some updated larger versions and add shading and texture. You could do a group for each series and movie. It would be a fun project to post here. :bolian:

Larger is easy but I don't think I'd add shading or texture in spite of having better tools and abilities. Looking back at them now years later, they have a somewhat Mondrian influence to them...straight lines and solid patches of color. Maybe I'll start by finishing the set with Movie ones and the missing characters from the other shows.
