Human beings will do remarkable things.

When Stacie Crimm found out that she had finally gotten pregnant at 41, she was overjoyed. So overjoyed that she knew exactly what to do when faced with the decision of whether to save her life or her unborn baby's, newsok.com reports.

After she was diagnosed with neck cancer, Crimm decided to refuse chemotherapy. The heroic mom survived long enough to deliver her 2-pound, 1 ounce daughter, Dottie Mae, and hold the baby in her arms, just once.

Bloody Hell. :( What an amazing woman. It never ceases to amaze me how selfless and courageous people can be.

I'm glad she got to see her baby.

I admire the woman for being so selfless. It was a courageous decision to make.

i feel sorry for the child who will have to grow up without her mother and who one day will have to come to terms that her mother died so she could live.

What a courageous, generous, and sacrificial act, in the highest sense of those words.

While I pray that I would never have to face that kind of choice, I hope that if I do, I want to have the selflessness to follow in this woman's example.

MissChicken--What is especially fortunate in this woman's case is that she knew exactly who she trusted to raise the baby. So while yes, it will be tough to come to terms with, I suspect her daughter will grow up in a supportive environment that's almost as good as having her own mother.
