I've seen gameplay of Anachronox. I'm not very fond of that particular style of RPG in general, but it does look like a pretty good game of it's genre. I might buy it one of these days though

The thing that made Anachronox was that it never took itself too seriously. It had a lot of Tom Hall's humour, and was in fact it lampooned jRPGs in general, and was as much an adventure game as it was an RPG. It's very reminiscent of Sierra games in terms of humour. There was to be a sequel, but due to the bad publicity of Daikatana, Anachronox didn't sell enough for it to have one. I still remember that quest for the moldy sock fondly.

I rarely give up on a game halfway in, but that's exactly what I did with Duke Nukem Forever. God it was horrible.

Doesn't Gearbox own the whole IP now? Maybe they'll move on with a new Duke game that's actually playable.
