Officially very freaked

So from my thread 'microwave sings....'

I am now sat next to a speaker attached to my music player thingy ~ records, cds, radio and the same music as last night is coming out and IT'S UNPLUGGED. It's also playing different recordings that I have played on different speakers.
NO SHIT ~ I swear it is unplugged and I've got Figaro on one speaker and War of the Worlds on another.
And I can't get hold of Man or Son on phone.
Got neighbour round and she can't hear a thing ~ maybe I am going mad.
Also hearing noises around Flat ~ think it's about to cry big Klingon tears.
How could this happen???

Sleep deprivation. As your chief medical officer, I hereby order you to sleep, because I just don't have any Erithrezine left over.

Or, do Vulcan meditation, that helps.

I love unplugged music. Clapton's "Layla" was awesome.

Oh, wait, you mean unplugged unplugged.

How loud is it? If your neighbor can't hear it, it may be just some residual ringing in your ears that your brain is interpreting as recently heard music. You might just be playing your stuff too loud.

Drive yourself to the most remote place in england, turn off the car, and just sit there in the grass 2 km away from the road until your head clears

Someone might've recorded the music and hid the players in the speakers. ;) Those little .mp3 recorders would do the trick.

But it's all on a loop. And why would someone be arsed to do so?

You need some sleep I think. ;)

As I'm now hearing voices in my kitchen I am inclined to agree with you. I can recognise Son's voice.

I want to turn the music down so I can overhear, but obviously, not being connected is not going to happen because the fucking thing is not plugged in!

Again, footsteps behind me...

Son beckoned home and should be here soon with a possie! If they can't hear anything ~ then you can declare K'Eh officially bonkers.

I'll register him under Alexander to report on my progress in my padded cell.

PM'd you back. Definitely sounds like sleep deprivation. I've had similar experiences when I've been awake too long, or am in a semi-waking state.

^ Being an avid and expert insomniac I have experienced some auditory hallucinations before just like this. I "hear" people talking to me and will have conversations with them. I have also experienced whispered music, foot steps, thumping and odd oscillations from equipment and machines when I am close to them.

But just wait. The visual hallucination will start soon enough. Those will freak you totally out. But unlike most folks who just get the visual trails and the ghost shapes in their peripheral vision, I also get these dark shapes above me that rush down at my face. Talk about wicked. The first time it happened I just about beat myself to death trying to get "it" off me.

And after that come the phantom touches and hot/cold sensations. I especially hate the "crawling". Add the hallucinations and you are a complete mess once this starts.

^^ On occasions when I've been really tired-- up for more than 24 hours-- I've also had tactile hallucinations. Like feeling big spiders on my chest. Freaky.

And, having just read the other Thread, I can see that hunger and dehydration are also playing a part. K'Eh needs to have a good meal, drink lots of clear water, and take some vitamins if available.

Sorry to hear you're suffering. :( I will echo what others have said and encourage you to see your doc as soon as possible and tell him/her everything. I do hope they won't prescribe you a sedative though, that could be swapping one issue for another (I know of others who have found it difficult to come off sedatives). The medical profession is too fond of swapping one bad pill for another.

Have you tried something herbal to help you with getting to sleep while you wait to see the quacks? Chamomile or lavender if you have them in the house, for example?
Best of luck, hope this gets resolved soon. You did tell the story in a funny way in both threads, but I can't help but feel for you, it must be very hard to function, let alone work under those circumstances. *hugs*

Oh god, I've had those sensations too, after lack of sleep, and it's completely unsettling!

Hang in there, K'ehleyr, and listen to the grape. He is wise. :)

I agree that some food, water, and rest ought to do the trick. I've never had auditory hallucinations (that I know of :borg:), but I've had visual hallucinations before. The oddest being in the middle of the night, when I woke up to get a snack because my blood sugar was low. I looked across the room to see what time it was but the clock seemed to be off. I picked up my phone to check the time, then, and while I could see the picture, I couldn't see the clock. I headed to the kitchen and looked at the microwave to see what time it was, and again, it was as if the LCD display was out. I looked at all the clocks in the apartment, and couldn't see the displays. I looked at the analogue clock and couldn't read it. I know it wasn't a dream because I found half the apple I'd eaten to raise my blood sugar on my nightstand in the morning.

Take a bath while drying your hair and see what happens...

Sorry, my dark humor coming through :p

take one (1) bottle of Tequila, down the whole thing in one shot, smash the bottle over your head, call me in the morning

I slept! Although the plan was to go to bed early Son came home in a chatty mode and when you have a teenager that wants to talk you grasp it. Was wonderful to get him to open up to me. So it was 3am when I went to bed but went straight to sleep, rather than the usual 2 hours reading, and tossing and turning. So had 6 and half hours straight. I bet Squeak the cat was clawing desperately at the window for second supper but I don't think anything would have awoken me last night :)

I swear I heard Son having a conversation in his room and could hear the comments. When he got home I thought he'd bought friends back with him and called out 'Hello' ~ 'Mum, there is no-one there'. 'But I saw them come in'
And, yo there was no-one.
Did experience the shapes in peripheral vision and the footsteps. Glad I didn't have the tactile stuff though ~ would have screamed :scream:

Thanks honey :) I'm not a fan of pills at all. Have just received my Red Tiger Balm in the post for the back and will rely on that, oh and the pilates which totally entertain Man and Son
The only way I dealt with it (notice in past tense!) was to be funny, but last night was scarey. If you'd seen me unplug all the music stuff, including the leads to the speakers and then cover the speakers with towels, making sure all the sides were covered... :guffaw:

You are right ~ the grape is very wise.
Sometimes you forget how important food is. I'm not a big eater and certainly should have more fruit and veg. Having stir fry tonight:techman:

I've got goosepimples now with that story :wtf:
I panicked last night because I couldn't get Man, Son or anyone on the phone and got paranoid that I was being cut off ~ and the music was playing on.
Felt like I was in a horror movie

What the hell kind of painkillers were these??

Pink ones! But I had to take them with paracetamol, which apparently is dreadful if you haven't eaten ~ and they were!

take one (1) bottle of Tequila, down the whole thing in one shot, smash the bottle over your head, call me in the morning

Me likey this doctor :guffaw:Could you send me a prescription :)

Plan to sleep for England tonight, no work tomorrow.

In a funny way ~ I miss the music
