O.T. Aaron Rosenberg's New Novel

Bob Greenberger

Writer
Red Shirt
As has been discussed across the BBS, many authors are turning to producing works and selling them on their own, usually as eBooks and digital downloads. Joining the field is sometime Trek author Aaron Rosenberg, with his novel Birth of the Dread Ramora which is space opera along the lines of Trek, Star Wars and Stargate SG-1.

Here’s the description:

Nathaniel Demming is a midshipman aboard the HMES Remora, the very first ship to go beyond their world's waters and out into the ether. He and the rest of the crew are ready for adventure, eager to explore the unknown and chart a new course for the rest of their world to follow. But what they find out there will change their lives, and their perspective, forever. The ether is not empty at all, but teeming with life--including vicious marauders waiting to prey upon the hapless Remora. Can Demming help his friends and fellow officers through the crises that await? Can they survive the dangers all around them? And can he convince them to transform their ship and themselves into the antithesis of everything they trained for, while still holding true to everything they believe in?

Birth of the Dread Remora is the first tale of the epic Scattered Earth saga, and the first in a series of swashbuckling adventures about the space-pirate ship the Dread Remora!

Aaron has the book for sale at Amazon, Crossroads Press, and B&N. This is certainly something to check out between Trek novels.

I've read it and my review is online since yesterday.

It has its weaknesses but is definitely worth a look. :)

Anything for you and Aaron! I just downloaded Kindle for PC, so I now have Aesop's Fables, Pride and Prejudice, Treasure Island -- and The Birth of the Dread Remora!

Re: my review

There's now a revised version of the book (the benefits of ePublishing I guess ) available, where some things I mentioned are corrected (like the continuity error). I've been provided with an updated review copy, so I hope to have an updated review sometime in the near future.
