NYE... what did you eat and drink?

No, not because I got wasted...

Yeah, pull the other one. It was only yesterday for crying out loud! Those must have been some hard drugs... :techman: :p

No, seriously! I tried really hard to remember, and I just can't. I wonder if someone slipped me a mickey? :D

PS. slightly OT, but still alcohol-related: Hugo - I opened that bottle of 1970 Leoville Las-Cases the other day. It was... pretty damn good! There was even still some fruit there, which I thought remarkable. Very very silky smooth mouthfeel.

I was kinda depressed...my boyfriend's and my phones were having problems connecting to each other, so I couldn't figure out which party he was at. I ended up making an impromptu green bean casserole and drinking some apple juice...then opened a bottle of cheap champagne about quarter til midnight and toasted in the new year by myself, playing Scramble on Facebook and watching The Twilight Zone.

Luckily my roommate and her boyfriend came home around 12:30, and my boyfriend and I finally got in contact with each other so he came over around 1 or so, so I wasn't alone the whole night.

I had a bunch of snacky things (pizza rolls, onion straws, buffalo wings) I had laying around, watched some of my DVD's in bed by 11.

-Woken up just after midnight to outdoor firework activity/cheering from neighbors.

I'm in a band, so I had a gig on NYE. They had some good food: wings, stuffed cabbage, all those typical meatball/weiner things, sandwiches etc. All sorts of interesting deserts too, plus, of course, tons of booze of all imaginable sorts. It was all good, and of course all free which is nice.

My wife and I had a great time.

We also stayed home.. Vilde was home with us so we didn't want to go out and risk him getting hysterical when the fireworks start. We had a lovely evening.

I made dinner.. Whole porkfile, which i cut in half lengtwise, spread apart and whacked to an even size and put mozarella, crispy bacon, onion, garlicsoftcheese, fresh basil and a little sundried tomatoes on. Wrapped together in bacon. Fried around it to give color and then into the oven. Added creme fraiche, whipped cream, tomatoepaste, soysauce, spices, garlic to it as a sauce to cook in.

Served with hasselbackspotatoes . That is potatoes that are sliced but not all the way through.. based with butter a few times and topped off with breadcrumbs and salt and another drop or two of butter.. I started with these and then the meat went in along side.

Green beans (boiled) with some garlic butter on if needed. Cucumber also.

It was very appriciated by all three of us. We skipped dessert and just had a little chips/crisps when we watched a movie together. And had a bite or two of my home made bountys (coconutcaramel dipped in chocolate).

At midnight we shared a few glasses of Asti Cinzano (cheapo bubbly but i love it) and watched the fireworks.
What is porkfile? I tried to find it online but didn't have much luck.

Oops, me and my dodgy english.
Pork tenderloin. :)
