when the first movie came out, and the resulting toys came out, the issues as to size of the nu trek ships started up.
According to sources, the size of the nu trek Enterprise was put at 1,000 meters long. That would mean that if the Miranda class saucer stayed the same,,, that the Enterprise D saucer was 1500 meters in diameter.
Now after careful study of the Star Trek film, ive realized that the nu trek enterprise is actually the same size as the TOS enterprise.
On the Kelvin sequence, we see the female crewmember get sucked out into vacuum and smack into one of the phaser turrets. the actual black rectangle appears to be roughly 8 feet tall. the center disk of the kelvin seems to be 4 -5 turrets tall. That would correlate with standard deck heights in TNG.
On the enterprise, the turret emiters are roughly the same size when compared to the bridge window, and the center disk seems to be roughly 7 turrets tall...
And we can always find Pines actual height, and compare that to the diameter of the pod he was ejected out in, and then we compare that dimension to the port he was shot out of in the hull, and then we can compare that to the rest of the hull.
