Now for something different... (non-Trek)

I rarely post anything myself here since I'm artistically challenged (unfortunately ) But every now and then I whip up a new custom Lego model. Here is the latest one, a common civilian vessel, a modular workhorse that's common throughout the galaxy. It's called the Pathfinder class, after its versatility. I might design other pods for it, but right now I have these two. The Mk I pods are commonly used for vessels serving as freighters, tankers, colonial transports, and the like. The Mk II pods shown here are more specialized, and some Pathfinders have been modified to be the futuristic version of lightships, acting as communications relays and support units near dangerous regions of space.

Any feedback is welcome. ;) I'm still improving my skills with digital photography.

Front. I had a hard time getting a decent shot of the forward perspective, so I finally wound up shooting on my dresser. Please ignore all that dust, it's not as bad as it looks. :D

Lancer subclass - military variant

Ventral I added landing thrusters here, which I forgot to add on the civilian model.

The Lancer class is a military variant on the civilian Pathfinder. The modular cargo arrays are replaced by three turrets, housing 10 twin particle cannons. Another twin array is fixed aft directly above the engines, and the ship also has a a number of smaller point-defense weapons. It is used by most of the major governments, which also use the civilian models, and normally operates as a small warship or police vessel. It makes a decent support ship for military duties, but is not designed to fight large dedicated military vessels.

I like it, except for the front of the ship which seems to simply be chopped off (at least from my perspective).

Well, there's definitely some influences from designs like the DY-100 and the Burkhart mining ship from Tachyon: The Fringe. The Tycho Brahe from the game was another inspiration. It's a gate tender.
