In this week's review of the "Scooby Doo" movie The Nostalgia Critic parodies "All Good Things..." in the framing device for the episode. In the episode "present" TNC teams up with his past-self (a teenage version of him) and future self (a Doc Brown-like version of him) to review the Scooby Doo movie. About half-way through he finds himself in Purgatory with an angelic "character" to the TNC series where he finds out that the review is critical to the future of humanity and eventually leads to pretty much a note-by-note parody/homage to TNG's ending including a sacrifice by the Dougs in all three time periods and a poker game.

Though I doubt that this is the last episode of TNC videos.

I watched it as soon as it went up on Blip. I love the Nostalgia Critic, he was partly the reason I got into Star Trek in the first place. I recognised the reference instantly and admittedly, it made me cry a little bit. Not because I think it's the last episode or anything, I just cried because the episode was just so fantastic. I loved how creepy the Cinema Snob was, and adored Dinosaur Rob's cameo.

It was a very nicely done homage to the series. I do wonder of Doug Walker is retiring TNC character though.

I doubt it. It's his meal ticket, after all. I think the whole thing is a lead-in to the annual anniversary special, although I have heard that this will be the last of the big, epic anniversary films.

So... if you use an inverse tachyon pulse in the same place in three different time periods you destroy humanity and probably every living thing in the AQ... don't tell anyone! Someone could send out an inverse tachyon pulse this week, next week and then the week after and you succeed in creating an anti-time eruption! Ohhh shit! Best file that one into top secret Jean-Luc! Spoony was fired. He was causing trouble for TGWTG for a while even before the twitter incident.

Back when he went to the E3 convention with Lord Kat and Angry Joe, he got to see a preview for the new XCOM game. Since Spoony holds the XCOM series with high regard, he was kind of anxious to see what they had in store for the new installment. They basically turned the futuristic turn-based strategy franchise into a urban 1950's setting first person shooter. Spoony was not happy. When Spoony and Angry Joe were shooting a video on what they had to report from inside the convention center, Spoony had this to say about XCOM.

Spoony: And there was one word, searing through the top of my skull. BETRAYAL! BETRAYAL! BETRAYED ME! THIS GAME SUUUUUUUUCKS! IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH XCOM! NOTHING! NOTHING!

His shouting was heard, and exhibiters were able to find out who Spoony was and who he was working with. Lord Kat, who had the awesome show "Until We Win" which he did one with Spoony, left TGWTG because after Spoony's unprofessional shouting, no one wanted to be interviewed by TGWTG. I honestly didn't know that was the case until Lord Kat broke his vows and talked about it in one of his podcasts.

But for me, Spoony's real fall came from his chat with Mass Effect fans over ME3's ending. I knew Spoony wasn't really a nice guy, but I had no idea he far he took it during his live chat. Here are some of the things he says on camera.

Spoony clearly believed that the indoctrination theory was real and the intent of the BioWare writers.

• "I'm completely right, and the world is fu***ng wrong."
• "It feels so good to come from a position of complete righteousness, you have no idea.
• "If you didn't like the ending to Mass Effect 3, you are too stupid to understand it. You are stupid."
• "If you honestly think that you're taking the ending that you see at face value, you're fu***ng stupid. That's all there is to it."

Someone asks Spoony the ending to ME3 was supposed to be taken at face value.

• "Now they're saying what if my theory is wrong. You know what? It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter."
• "Sometimes the fan theories are better than what the actual ending is. It's up to you to decide what the actual ending is. Why? I can't believe you guys are this naive."

Clearly, anything we don't like or consider poor writing we can pretend is actually good writing...?

Spoony than talks about the reaction as a whole which in and of itself is good topic for discussion, but with Spoony it's not a discussion.

• "Let's just say that Mass Effect 3 for the sake of argument is the worst ending in the history of "fiction". I'll give you that! Even given that, the widespread fan reaction to this ending is so fucking petulant and overblown and unwarrented it makes you guys look fu***ng ridiculous."
• "Petitions? Donation Drives? Take Back Mass Effect movement? The fu***ng sh** and condesesion I've had to put up with on fu***ng twitter over a game? Come on! Come on. Fu** you. Fu** your entitled bull**it. It's a bad ending. I'll give you the bad ending. You're wrong, but I'll give it to ya. So what?"

Note that this next quote is said by the same guy who shouted "THIS GAME SUUUCKS!" on the E3 convention floor.

• "You guys are fu***ng losers sometimes. You know that? Sad. SAD. To think that this, to think that Mass Effect 3 is what outraged you. God***n. You guys are easy."
• "This overreaction is unbelievable. And what's even more unbelieevable is wrong, because the ending is great. It's fu***ng great. Even if I give you that it's not great, you're still wrong. You are wrong both ways."

This is when I officially cut ties with Spoony, which surprised even me because he's like this almost all the time on twitter. But where the hammer really fell was when he made a joke about taking someone from TGWTG and... well, having his way with her. While he thinks he was making a BDSM joke, many took it as a rape joke. This escalated into a full blown bi*** match between him and other members of the TGWTG community and even his own fans. JonTron, a video reviewer who said that he looked up at Spoony for inspiration for doing his videos, tried to tell him to chill out. Spoony just told him to fu** off.

Huh. Well, to be honest I'm not saddened to see that. Spoony was beginning to grate and certainly flaking out since his break-off with his girlfriend. His rants against movies were getting pretty increasingly hostile and long-winded as well. His entertainment value was sinking and fast.
