Non-region 1 dvd players in region 1

I’m in the US and want to get a dvd player that will play non-region 1 dvds. Where do I find them? Or can my dvd player or computer be set to play them?

I looked on bestbuy.com and it wasn’t helpful. I don’t want to spend a ton of money. Any ideas?

Go here, enter your model number, see if there is already a handset hack for it.

If not, make sure you just look up whatever you are going to buy before you buy it and check it has a handset hack available.

There's also ways of region-freeing your PC drive, but those aren't as reliable generally. See if this works first.

Thanks, one of my players shows up. I think Hubby wouldn’t mind buying a multi-region player if it were available at a good price.

You'll find that almost all players have the ability to become multi region even if they are not shipped that way. I've had 4 or 5 and they all had handset hacks.
