noise cancelling headphones advice

Hi I need to buy a new set of headphones primarily for use on my PC. I was considering buying a set of noise cancelling headphones specifically a set of Sennheiser PXC300 headphones. They seem to be getting good reviews on most sites.

I realise that noise cancelling headphones are designed specifically to filter low frequency noise such as plane engines for travellers but I was wondering how well they would filter noise generated by a PC base units such as fans. I haven’t tried noise cancelling headphones before so was wondering if anyone has any opinions if they are worth using for home / office use. Thanks.

Hi Gaius,

I have a set of the BOSE QC1 and have used them on airplains and to remove the sound of a shop vac. They work very well on fans too. If you want them, I'll sell them to you. I have not needed them in about 8 months now. Mine cost twice that new, I'll sell them to you if you are interested for about the same price as the ones above. They come with all of the connectors and a nice storage bag.

Best Wishes,
