No Tribbles in Stasis?

Voyager was around for plenty before Sisko and his lot made the environmentalists among us mourn the passing of the species, so for all the times that the crew claimed that they were running low on food, that they were racked for choice, wouldn't this have been a superbly infinitely renewable food-source they could have backed up their replicators with if they just conventionality found a couple on ice in cargo bay 2?

Can you imagine Neelix's infinite diversity trying not to make it obvious that Tribble was on the menu every night...

How would you cook Tribble(s)?

It wouldn't take long either before the excess of pelts would get soo completely under foot that they would all be dressed in Tribble too. Neelix would look like a Yeti.

Though I think these people are beyond using Tribble pooh methane as a bio fuel, but it could prove to be a viable currency with low tech planets which they do not want to trade antimatter and replicators with because they seem too primitive to handle the responsibility of the using the good stuff with care.

they could be used for food...or as pets...(assuming they don't get into the food stores and replicate them selves...) or....what ever else the little fur balls are good for....(trading them for supplies?)

One or two in stasis wouldn't take up more room than a can of tennis balls spoonunseptium, and such a tennis ball can sized stasis jar would be clearly labeled "Do not open unless in case of famine."

Of course then you have the counter issues of a Tribbles rights activists talking out against the whole sale slaughter, if their murder became the grease upon which the ships wheels metaphorically turn, and possibly literally you'd have talk of "slavery", but god save us from the mutant Tribble or the transporter accident tribble who came out the other end with an IQ of 70 and the fantastic ability to string words together as ably as that Kim kid.

besides if they all would have bee living on a diet of tribble meat in the pilot, they'd all have been just super fertile when Caretaker raped the lot of them that one of the many pregnancies might have stuck and then how things would have turned out different if there was a sporosistisene bubba nursing inside some crewman till they became a withered husk and... Hmmm? Would janeway have "allowed" a Caretaker baby to come to term after the events in the pilot? Especially if it became a choice between the parent/carrier and the "child"?
