No PoD yet?

I've been waiting to order it from the website where I always order my books from, www.bol.com
All Star Trek novells have been available there sofar, right after release. But not this one appereantly.

Has there been some delays for overseas shipping? I'm from The Netherlands btw.

Doubt it. I'm in Germany and I had my copy a week before it started to appear in the US from amazon.de. For some reason the last few Star Trek novels were sent out by them before they were available in the US. No idea why, but I won't complain.

Now amazon.de has it listed as shipping in 3 to 6 weeks, though. My guess is they get a (relatively) small batch from the US around the US release date and after that is sold out they wait for the UK release.

Weird.....

Thing is, I just realized I hadn't tried and search www.bol.com for the ISBN number for PoD. It did find it then, but said it wasn't released yet. ????

you need to get a nook from barnes and noble . almost every star trek book out there is on the nook .

So odd..... For a few days, I could order the book from bol.com, but didn't just yet since I wanted a few other items and couldn't find time to order everything, busybusybusy.

Now I had the time, and suddenly it says the book is not yet released again. So, after being in touch with bol.com, they replied that they are depended on their suppliers for release dates, and no release date is known as of now.

Are there different release dates around the globe for Star Trek novells?

Yeah, I can't remember how it works out, but countries other than the US get the books on a delay.

Theoretically there's a one month delay for the UK/Europe, and I think one or two months for Australia.

But as mentioned earlier in this thread, Amazon. de usually has a limited batch for the US release date and I think Therin mentioned that at least some bookshops in Australia would have them around the US release, too.

Yes, as from "Destiny" and the build-up to JJ Abrams' movie, Simon & Schuster Australia have been air-freighting the supply for Australian distribution, rather than sea-freighting, and absorbing the additional cost (that was always passed on to consumers as part of the RRP if the specialist stores air-freighted).

This has come about for a few reasons. S&S Aust. did quite a push on ST novels, riding the coattails of the movie publicity. Diamond Distributors had dropped Pocket Books from their orderpaks, which is where our specialist book and comic stores could order in air-freighted ST novels (more recently for pre-orders, rarely for the open shelves) and thus beat the regular bookshops. (I suspect these stores had to pester S&S Aust. to get them their product in a more timely way.) Our healthy dollar now has parity with the US dollar, which has seen a drop in US book prices here.

So Aussie bookshops now stock ST novels in the week of US release! The lower prices are very welcome (New ST trades are now $19.00, no more $26.00 or so, as they were last year)!

I'm seeing Picard and Shar's little faces staring at me from bookshops all over Sydney already!

Hm, hopefully it'll be available soon then.

@ Defcon, I have considered ordering from Amazon, but I prefer ordering from bol.com, paying and shipping is easier that way.

All my local Borders are out of stock, which really bums me out, as I got a 40%-off coupon via email this weekend and I was really looking forward to using it on Paths of Disharmony. *sigh* Ah well.

^ I also kept waiting and waiting for Paths of Disharmony to show up at my nearest Borders. Nothing. After so many days I figured they didn't bother even ordering it. I just went ahead and bought it on Amazon.

Did you ask?

Maybe their entire supply for the shelves was eaten up by pre-orders in the recent few weeks, as is often the case with the final parts of a popular mini-series. They would have had to order the stock three months earlier, not enough time to react to good (or poor) sales on Book 1.

^ I was going to, but I figured I'll just go the Amazon route this time (I had a few dollars left on an Amazon gift card).
