No Nu Who today!

DimesDan

No longer living the Irish dream.

Today being Easter Saturday and traditionally Easter Saturday is when nu who begins, we don't have any, this is the first time it's happened since 2004, eight years ago.

Anyway, what, if anything will people will be doing to mark this somber occasion.

Myself, I'll be getting drunk and marking a colleagues 21st Birthday, I might wear my "Keep Calm and Don't Blink Tshirt" to keep with the Whovian theme, not sure yet.

Tonight is the Canucks regular season finale (hockey) so I'll be watching that. Probably will then go see "American Reunion" with friends afterwards. Oh and there was some discussion about a poker game as well.

Perhaps we don't have any DW tonight because the Angels have the blue box. :P

i'm going to watch The Twin Dilemma in order to make no who seem like a good thing

With Easter always moving around, and my last 3 weeks being spend working away from home and at two Doctor Who events, I hadn't really noticed.

My sister is coming into town with my niece. So that should occupy my time and not make me think about no new Who.

Except in 2008, when Easter was on March 23rd and the first episode of series 4 wasn't shown until April 5th, 2 weeks later :)

Although Series 3 comes close, with the first episode having been shown on March 31st and Easter being the following weekend...

I was about to post something similar, that seasons 3 and 4 didn't start Easter weekend, so that tradition has already been broken. However, this will be the first time since the series returned that there will be no new episodes airing in April.

I watched the bonus features on The Doctor, The Widow and The Wardrobe DVD. They greatly cover the Matt Smith era of Dr. Who.

I'll just sit in the corner clutching my sonic, crying and muttering to myself. Pretty much the same thing I always do during the off season. :(

I hate long gaps between seasons, always have ever since I was a child (once I knew what seasons were!) waiting for the new Sylvester McCoy stories. Its no different now waiting for Matt Smith to come back onto my screen.

I just got my Special Edition DVD of 'The Five Doctors' in the mail today. So in a few minutes here I'm gonna rip that sucker open and watch it.

This is going to be fun for me because I haven't seen anything of the first three Doctors yet (ok ok, they had to recast the First because he passed away, but still...).

Hey you are going to really like watching The Five Doctors!
It is the perfect showcase for the first five incarnations of the Doctor and also has plenty of companions and arch foes to enjoy. Do let us knowwhatyou think of it after you've viewed it! :techman:

Then go and seek out The Three Doctors and the rest of the Serials of the first 3 Doctors :bolian:.

Hurndall, I think gives a pretty decent 1st Doctor impression, and he's actually like that in Blake's 7 pretty much as well, so I assume it's close to his natural personality or "Acting Persona", whichever direction you wanna look at it from.

The Three Doctors is even cooler than The Five Doctors IMHO. And you should definitely check out the early serials of the first, second and third Doctors. Might I recommend The Daemons and Carnival of Monsters for the Third Doctor, Jon Pertwee? And The Invasion for the Second Doctor, Pat Troughton?

'The Three Doctors' is going to be a serial I get soon. However I am going to be getting a few stories featuring Seven, as he's a Doctor I do want to see more of, so 'The Three Doctors will have to wait.'
