No John Williams score for Superman

If you think of Superman on screen, no doubt John Williams' soaring epic theme is swooshing around your head.
However, the much talked-about Zack Snyder reboot is dropping the iconic 'Superman' theme, with Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer given the unenviable task of following up Williams' score.

I must admit I have not seen the last superman film, But I would hate to be the guy who has to write a new theme.

Eh, I'm ready for a new score. The Williams music and other trappings of the Reeve era belong in the past. This Superman is touted as being something new, and this is just a confirmation of that.

I agree Williams is likely to remain the best for some time, but it's not like there can't be great superman music without his work. I thought The Fleischer cartoons and George Reeves show both have fine music.

This is already being discussed over in Sci-fi & Fantasy. Hans Zimmer is to score the movie.
