Niner Rewrite II: Niners How Would You Rewrite ST: Enterprise?

Just off the top of my head, the EX should have been much more primitive and Ent should have been written more like DS9 in arc form.

It took itself waaaaaaaaaaay too serious at times. Great opportunity to have fun w/a show.

I'd start it later in the timeline, either 1 or 2 years prior to when the Romulan War is meant to have started. I'd get the Romulans involved early as a background force trying to shape things instead of the Future Guy, which would also see no Temporal Cold War.

I would also be tempted to not have T'Plor and have the Enterprise completely crewed by humans and only add alien crew later on.

My general plan would be to get the war to end in season 6 and have the final season dealing with the formation of the Federation/showing the early steps of the Federation.

I'm not sure I'd go for having the main ship being an Enterprise (which also means the series would need a new name). Not sure what but I'd want it to match the sense of humanity going into a new age or advancing. I just prefer the idea that the 1701 is the ship that set up the legend that is the Enterprise, simply because it is the ship that made Star Trek the sci-fi legend it is.

I wouldn't have done the Romulan War era at all. I'd have set the show in the 2130s or 2120s.

Dman it Jono, I was just about to post that. Exactly, the E-R War would have been such an opportunity, esp for fans of the Dominion War.
