This is just disturbing on so many levels...

EDIT: oh crap, wait: this is even more disturbing.

Yeah, it's Kirk. and Uhura. ugh.

1. That's not Nimoy's Spock. It's Ben Cross as Sarek.

2. That's not Uhura. It's an Orion woman. Notice her green skin.

Wow, you couldn't see for yourself that it's NOT Spock and that Kirk is on top of an Green Orion? Wow....

I'm hoping that's Diora Baird with Kirk! She's supposed to be an Orion in this. I can't wait to see her!! Hummina, hummina, hummina...

Gotta say though, Cross wouldn't have been my first choice as Sarek - he looks more like Nimoy from that shot than he does Mark Lenard. :(

They did a great job casting the young Sarek in TFF, why was it so difficult for Abrams and co.?!

In fact, no. The resemblence to Nimoy is striking. I figured they had just made him up to look younger. And no, I can't tell the color of the girl's skin in that light.
Fine, I'm a goober.

Nimoy-Spock looks strange. I don't know if it's the age, make-up, or both.

EDIT

Oh. :alienblush:

I should read the entire thread next time before just responding to the original post. That would explain it.

The dude with Winona Ryder is clearly Andreas Katsulas as Tomalak. (And yes, I know that Katsulas is no longer with us.)

Don't feel bad, I would have thought it was Nimoy had I not already read that it wasn't, and I can't tell the girl's skin color from the pic.

Glad I read this. I, too, fell victim to the same faulty source. I knew it was supposed to be Sarek, but I fell for the Kirk/Uhura thing, and felt like it would not be a good direction for JJ to take. Sexiness in the new movie is one thing, but this seemed way too forced and cheesy. So I'm happy to hear it was a mistake.

CBS 2 in Los Angeles has put up more video from their interview with Leonard Nimoy, with this one focusing more on Star Trek. Although he acknowledges that he helped shape the character of Spock (and therefore all future Vulcans), the actor gives most of the credit to Gene Roddenberry. Nimoy also revealed that the original plan for Spock was to use red make-up, but it didn’t work well on black and white TVs which were still prevalent in 1966. Nimoy also spoke about coming back for the new Star Trek, revealing a small spoiler.

Maybe they wanted someone who can clearly, y'know, act? As well as look like Mark Lenard? Or are you basically just admitting you don't know who Ben Cross is and haven't bothered to look it up?

Looks more like Andreas Katsulas to me.

Edit: oops, sorry, missed your post.
