The first season's eight episodes were just released.
I've seen the first episode, and can't wait to watch the rest.

I've watched three episodes so far. The story gets better and better.

After viewing the first 8 episodes, I wonder if the 'elevator' when used for interstellar travel sends you off-world, if the world you go to is slightly in the past from Earth's perspective. Then when you take a return trip to Earth, you go back to our present by the same time differential. I see the coffee table that Irene placed the glowing power crystal on from the living room arrived just outside the portal room on the other planet. Probably the same distance and height is was on Earth from the York's living room and fell to that spot on the other planet. I think the escaping apostate thought the person chasing him when they were off-world thought the person chasing him was a guardian, when in fact it was the annoying nosy neighbor impatient for answers and was stabbed for his trouble. Byron reminds me of a male version of Mrs.Kravitz the neighbor (two links because the role was played by two people) of Samantha & Darrin on the old Bewitched TV series.

Sadly, they announced it will not be renewed quite a while back. I liked it too.
