...so Taxpayers Alliance and The Sun complains: (You'll have to excuse The Register's irreverent writing style.) Hmmmm, problems with this. First, the cost was shared with a private clinic. Second, what's £7,500 compared to the tens of millions of pounds the NHS spends on giving away entirely unnecessary IVF treatment for free ?
I can't see too much wrong with it. It isn't a huge amount of money by any means and I think that men would find it more enjoyable to wank off watching a movie than reading a magazine.
Given the quality of the magazines they use, I wouldn't be surprised if they hindered the process more than anything else.
I usually rather enjoy The Register's irreverent writing style. I find it impedes their ability to report the pertinent details not at all.
Answering your non-serious question seriously, no - the clinic is for couples undergoing IVF treatment. One thing I never got, why does the guy have to go in some cubicle on his own ? Is there any reason why the potential mother of his child can't, you know, 'help' ?
7500 for a fap room??? Seriously? Get a nice 40'' TV for under 100 bucks (and if you did your shopping right that's be one good TV), a BR player for 200-300 and a nice, comfy chair and you didn't spend 2000. Where the hell do they buy and can i sell them some stuff?
We didn't go as far as IVF, but we did do IUI 4 times and we were told that we could go to the "donation room" as a couple if we wanted to. One morning I was waiting for my turn and saw a couple leaving. So at least in the US, there's that option.
