I think I've tried to start threads like this in the past and the interest as been pretty low, but I wonder how many of you all watch Hockey? Considering it's my favorite sport, I'm excited for the season to be back, but the Sharks look average at best. Still, I hope this is a great season. I remember years ago there was quite the hockey following here. I think unfortunately it's petered out over the last few years but I'm still here and I'm still watching the NHL.

It has been rough to watch the Blackhawks decline. The defense is now atrocious, and Toews and Kane are starting to wear down. :(

It was bound to happen though considering the hefty contracts. I still think the Blackhawks are a dominant team (10-1 against Pittsburgh the other night) but nothing lasts forever.

I'm a big hockey fan too, but it seems there are few fans on the board.

Ovechkin is back, baby. 7 goals in the past two games. To think that people wrote him off after last year.

I usually participate in these threads early in the season but drift off as the interest is generally low. I'll try to stick around this time.

And I thought McDavid had a strong start. Ovie looks like he is playing obsessed.

Maple Leafs might be the team to beat in that division. They are a goal scoring machine.

    That's 62 career shutouts for Lundqvist. 16th all-time.

They lost James Neal, who is by far the Knight’s best player.

Leafs battle back from 3-1 down in Chicago to 4-3 in OT, with Matthews scoring the winner. This Toronto team is going to be hella exciting to watch all season.

The league is fun when the leafs do well. Love watching players like Matthews, Marner, and Nylander Play.

Matthews' goal was the best I had seen in a long time. He not only has skill, but he is a complete player.

Vegas are supposed to be terrible, what's happening? Still unbeaten. Great start for their franchise.

I loved that ceremony last night. You couldn’t write a better script for starting hockey in Vegas.

The Devils are looking exciting. They have a lot of speed and youth in their lineup. Of course, it's been 3 games. But a lot of last year's bottom feeders are doing well early on.

I was watching a little of the Devils game yesterday and they might become another NHL.TV team to focus on. It’s kind of exciting and I like what I’ve seen from Heisher and Bratt. They have a young up and coming team.

Very exciting game between Tampa and Pittsburgh. The Lightning are filled with offensive threats now that Stamkos is back. They're my Cup pick this season.

Should the Oilers be worried? Their losing streak continues. If McDavid and Draisaitl aren't producing, they aren't winning.

    Leafs continue to roll.

I get the feeling the Sharks are going to be pretty average this year. They are a 500 team right now who just had two losses to the Islanders even though they played hard. Hopefully they can get better as the season progresses and the young guys like Heed and Ryan can make an impact.

Also break up the golden knights. They shouldn’t be winning all these games.
