NFL 2024: Chiefs Kingdom Targets a Three-Peat

Could it be?

Family of Blackfeet chief who inspired Redskins logo wants it back

and

Commanders Urged to Consider Bringing Back Redskins Logo

The family of a Blackfeet Nation leader and artist, Walter “Blackie” Wetzel, want his logo and the Redskins name restored to honor their family and their tribe's traditions. The logo was based on a Blackfeet tribal chief, John Two Guns White Calf, of Montana.

The final stink of the Snyder era is about to be fumigated. All I can say is that it's about fucking time! Commanders was a patently stupid name.

One can hope. I'd be okay with going to "Sentinels" (of "The Replacements" fame - cool name and great football movie). Even "Washington Football Team", while woefully boring, is better than what we have now. Just get rid of "Commanders" already!

I never had a real problem with "Redskins", though I understand how it can be problematic. It was something that was "grandfathered" in, as culture changed. Now that it is gone, I have a hard time seeing them reverting back to that name and imagery.

Daniel Jones is the new backup QB for the Minnesota Vikings.

Well, that was a flabbergasting ending. Chicago threw away any chance of tying or winning the game. Plenty of time to run another play and call a timeout to get your kicking team on the field if you can't get a touchdown. Instead, Da Bears mill around instead of lining up, the coaches forget they have a timeout left, and no one seems to care.

Fire Eberflus and his assistants. That was atrocious.

And now, time for today's real turkey: the Giants versus the Cowboys.

And what a turkey this game is. Neither team seems capable of moving the ball effectively, or even holding on to the ball without turning it over to the other side.

These are two very bad teams with bad backup QBs playing football badly.

The Giants ended up, unsurprisingly, playing worse than Dallas. But not by much.

Miami is already in a hole against Green Bay, down 14-0 early in the 2nd quarter. They're showing signs of life, finally.

EDIT: 3 points of life. That's something.

"I like what we did there," Eberflus said. "Again, once it's under seven [seconds], you're going to call a timeout there -- actually under 12 and then really you don't have an option because it's third to fourth, you have to throw it into the end zone then.

"To me it's -- I think we handled it the right way, I do believe that you just rerack the play, get it in bounds and call timeout, and that's why we held it and didn't work out the way we wanted it to."

WTF is Eberflus even saying?!?!?!?!?

It needed to be done regardless of what happened yesterday. This is a good team with a young QB with a lot of potential; the only thing holding them back, really, was the coaching.

This is the third straight time the Bears have drafted a first round QB for a lame duck head coach and the QBs all had new coaches for year two.

I don't understand promoting the guy who you just promoted to OC, to interim head coach? So, now you're dividing the time of the guy who is supposed to be working with your #1 pick, to bring him up to NFL standards.
