In other news, the new owners of the Broncos are in talks with Peyton Manning about... something. It's all a bit vague right now, but they did give mention to this:
No. I’m a firhard Raiders fan, but that didn’t cause me toattempt in any way to mitigate what he did. Yes, my Lakers/Kobe fandom is intense, but I draw the line at criminal activity. What really motivates me about this case was what I learned about sex assault laws, which are really inadequate for a case like Kobe’s. Amd speaking of bias, are you sure you aren’t harboring some in the other distraction? Only on the basketball court, but not on earth. After all, ne did committ adultery that night. [qeote]and should never be questioned. Our limited lizard hind-brains cannot possibly comprehend the complexity of His Plan. We pathetic mortals are but mere bugs to be squashed at his [/quote] And if you “hush now,” you might actually learn something. . I wasn’t the one who brought up Kobe’s name in this thread. And as off topic as you seem to think it was, you still felt compiled to comment. But, I get it, Kobe has that kind of affect on some people.
Other direction? No. I’m not up on the case. I simply don’t know. But when someone leads with “I’m a superfan” then exonerates a suspected rapist, the ol’ red alert goes off for me.
Admitting up front that I’m a big Lakers/Kobe fan was a “full disclosure” moment. I think it would have been more suspicious if it appeared I might be hiding my interest. My feelings about the case are based solely on the facts as they were reported. Kobe was one of the most polarizing pro athletes to ever play any sport. As such, in addition to the oceans of love and adulation he received, he also got nearly the same amount of hate, especially after the incident. Many of the haters really knew little to no details of the case and many weren’t NBA fans. But they were hating just as hard. If that’s you, then my bad.
Only two people know what went on that night, Bryant and his accuser, the public is just playing armchair prosecutor/defense attorney.
Right, and there was no objective proof of anything other than two people had a sexual encounter. That’’s why I say no charges should ever have been filed. BTW, that sentence you quoted, I inadvertently left out the word, “;not.”
Bruce Smith doesn't think Tony Boselli should be in the HOF because of his short career and not having to protect Mark Brunell's blind side. Boselli will be inducted on Aug. 6.
He's trying to get out in front of the NFL suspending him for a season. Even though his contract is specifically structured to withstand a suspension, pay-wise.
In related NFL sexual misconduct news, In 2020, Dan Snyder paid $1.6 million to settle a sexual misconduct claim against him in 2009. https://sports.yahoo.com/commanders...conduct-allegations-settlement-021550184.html
IIRC, there are multiple investigations going on with Snyder and his skidmark cronies. That's just one of the older ones. There was another set of accusations made last year by some of the cheerleaders. Snyder wanted to hire his own "independent investigative team" and the NFL said, "oh no you don't". Maybe this is the same thing, though. I really don't know anymore - All these investigations just kind of melt into each other after a while, there are so many of them. I've lost track of where they're all at.
Well this is the NFL, where sexual misconduct is good and kneeling is bad (unless Tim Tebow does it).
Tony Siragusa has passed away at the age of 55. https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...ox-sideline-analyst-tony-siragusa-dies-at-55/
No cause of death? Ravens LB Jaylon Furguson as well, today. Bad day for Baltimore. Lots of ostensibly healthy young(ish) people suddenly passing away for no apparent reason lately. Hmm...
Hard for me to work up any sympathy for this guy. I really disliked him. He deliberately injured Rich Gannon on a sack play in a playoff game. Still, 55 is too young to dir.
Washington gives Terry McLaurin a three-year extension worth up to $71 million with a $28 million signing bonus. 76.4% of the new money is guaranteed.
The NFL just gets worse… https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...s-practice-facility-fights-bankruptcy-facade/ I just don’t think I can support it anymore.
