Well, sure I hope that happens w/ Wilson (I really do), but all this up-front maneuvering feels quite scary and a big gamble. I guess This Is The Way for Wally-world now as the new franchise owners (among others). That's also why I drew the parallel to RG3, and the way Snyder front-loaded that whole dumpster fire with him against Shanahan's better judgment (who always wanted to go with Cousins instead), w/ RG3 having basically hidden his ACL/LCL injuries from playing college ball that came back to bite him in the ass. God forbid Wilson hurts himself early on in his tenure there. Weirder and more tragic things have happened.

You can’t predict the future, just try to make the best decisions possible based on the past.

The Texans will go 17-0 and win the next twenty SBs in a row.

And for my next trick, I'm gonna smoke some more pot. It's very helpful when tolerating bad sports franchises. :D

 I should try that for the Redsk...er the Washi... er the Commanders and see how it works. They have been such a rolling dumpster fire in the past 20-some years during the Snyder Regime, it probably wouldn't matter one iota either way.

If only he'd take the whole McCasket family with him when he rides off into the sunset.

Trying to get rid of some unpopular baggage before they ask Arlington Heights for two billion dollars for a stadium.

Yeah, but no one is going to get rid of themselves. Phillips was the next best thing to toss overboard.

Phillips retiring is probably a big sign that Arlington Heights isn't leaning towards giving the team a huge public handout for a new stadium. It was heavily rumored that Phillips was tasked with finishing the financing for an Arlington Heights stadium and wheeling and dealing with all of the politicians to get a massive payout, and then he'd retire.

I hope Arlington Heights tells the Bears to go fuck themselves.

Polling among Arlington Heights residents is about 70 / 30 against any sort of public funding for a new Bears stadium, so here's hoping that politicians actually listen to the people.

Whenever sports stadiums funding issues come up for election, I always vote against them. However, in Houston, I always lose that vote because no matter what they throw up as a sports funding bond issue or whatever, it's always passed by the voting Houstonians.

Super Bowl LVII: LA Chargers vs. Philadelphia Eagles.

Both have question marks, both have loaded rosters.

Found a bunch of Jets fans on social media who were losing their minds because they cut Chris Streveler. Chris Streveler!!! Does every team have vocal fans who freak out over players getting cut who will never do anything in the NFL?

No different than the people who complain if their favorite minor character doesn't get enough screen time.

Emmanuel Sanders calls it quits after 12 seasons. He said he had a couple teams reach out to him, but long-term health considerations, the death of Demaryius Thomas, and a TV analyst job made the decision to walk away easier.
