Well, the Dolphins did it in back-to-back seasons, where they are 19-14. They were a pretty bare cupboard when Flores arrived and are still struggling with getting offensive talent. I’ve always thought Chris Grier, the GM, was the bigger problem yet has somehow hung onto his job for another go round at hiring a head coach.

Many of these fired coaches were in no-win situations with horrible ownership and/or an empty cupboard.

When you take on one of these roles, you're expected to make chicken salad whether the GM gives you chicken or chicken shit.

Though Joe Judge was clearly in over his head.

I don't think they go anywhere until they get Jack Esterby out of there.

Agreed 1000% on that. As one poster on the Texans board says "Littlefinger is going into his 3rd HC now". LOL

It really sucks that the Raiders, who played the last game of the week this past Sunday, has to now play the first game of the playoffs on a short week Saturday, on the road. Bot oh well, why should things get easier now?

Not gonna lie, I had given up on this team and the season, but this Raiders team’s heart and toughness proved I was wrong about them.

Win or lose in Cincy, I’m going to savor the beauty of a bunch of guys, including coaches, punching through every obstacle and pulling together as a team.

Raiders should "win one for the Madden", or maybe win three.

He won their one SB appearance, but was in the playoffs 8 out of 10 of his years as HC and lost to some great teams.

Def should have been a couple more SB appearances in there.

The Raiders might set the NFL record for holding penalties today!

Congrats to the Bengals, although the Raiders gave them all they could handle.

Important lesson from today: if you want to win, you have to play ‘til the whistle.

    And then a little longer.
